God has used Dawn for the Poor to release many people from bondage to sin and to enable them to realize their full potential in Christ; empowering them to begin transformation in many urban poor communities.
Little children rummage through huge piles of garbage. One by one they pick up treasures from another man's garbage. Millions who live in poverty have had to learn to use everything, even trash. In so many squatter areas in the Philippines nothing seems to be wasted - except lives! So often the poor cannot see any value in their lives and never realize their full potential. But Jesus came to save such lives and to enable them to reach their God-given potential. "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me," He said, for He has anointed me to bring Good News to the Poor." Jesus' primary mission was always to the poor and He never changed His mission statement.
